A Michelin restaurant on the Camino
Posted by VQT
We might not qualify as Camino pilgrims this year since we haven’t walked a km but we are living the good life.
Photo: Address and phone number for The Lince Santa Clara.I posted the hotel telephone number in case anyone wants to book a room here. You must if you are anywhere near Porto. It’s stunning. When we were in Vila do Conde three years ago this old nunnery was under renovation.
This Camino pilgrim stays in and eats at lesser establishments was very impressed by these Michelin plaques. In 2026 they were awarded 2 stars and in 2026 only 1 star. Very impressive.

Of course we had to go have a little look around.
Once we saw the bar area we knew we needed to relax and have a glass of vino tinto. It was approximately 7 times the cost of the usual Camino bar/cafe vino tinto. Did we care? Not even a little bit.
The staff was so gracious even though we were wearing our very tatty Camino clothes.

The bar was very well stocked.
I looked it up online and a bottle is 57.50 euros.
Coming from the US it takes 2 days of travel to reach any Camino starting place. We splurged today on a great meal and a glass of vino tinto at a beautiful bar. Tomorrow we lace up our boots and start our walk to Santiago de Compostela.

A worthy start! Hope you had a delicious meal as well. You need to fuel up for your adventure!
