On September 2nd (our second day of walking) I started using the Merlin app to identify bird songs. Merlin is a free app from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. As of today 10/5/25 we have heard or seen 49 different birds.
Here’s our list in order of when we heard them with a few dates and subtotals interspersed.

ReplyDeleteWow! That's quite the list! My Merlin app says I have too many noisy birds that all chatter at the same time, so why waste it's awesome technical skills on crows and other chattery birds! He said it's my fault for dragging it out when all the birds are having a go. Merlin and I are no longer on speaking terms. Yours seems to be much friendlier!
