An easy walk

Posted by VQT

We left Palas de Rei at 7:30 in the dark and fog.  We’d hoped to avoid some of the crowds by leaving early but there are way too many people walking to avoid them.

We stopped for tea and homemade cheesecake.  Yes, cheesecake for breakfast.  The cheesecake is crustless and made with a local cheese.  It’s really good.

Then surprise of the day we met up with Mindy and Stacie (we first met them when only the 4 of us were staying at what we call The Bates Motel -it was a very creepy place).

Time today to actually stop and enjoy the walk since we had only a 9 mile walk.

Patricia (Spain), Stacie (Hawaii) VQT, LP, Sandra (Uruguay) and Mindy (Hawaii).

A tatty blue door.

Credential stamp from small church we stopped at.

Local man at the church stamping the credential books with LP.  Many of the small churches are only open because local people are willing to be there.

LP walking in the fog this morning.

A dancing couple statue in the morning fog.

We arrived in Melide and checked into our hotel (it’s the same hotel we stayed at 3 years ago) and immediately gathered up our laundry and are at the laundromat now.

Tonight we meet up with Mindy, Stacie and Tina for vino tinto and dinner.
