Resting in Reliegos
Posted by LP
We are resting in the quiet town of Reliegos…..here are a few photos of what goes on here:
Photo - Meteorito sign - a meteorite fell here in 1948Photo - house with British post/mail box and vintage car, Morris Traveller 🇬🇧
Photo - small black dog sitting on the table of the cafe 🐾
Photo - Stacey and Mindy (we met them back at the very strange hotel) - they are posing as if racing to show us how strong they are nearing the end of their 23 mile day!
Photo - building with curved roof - apparently they are for storing and aging wine, but they look like they could be the dwelling of hobbits or similar folk
Photo - LP with the taxi driver - it took about 20 minutes to drive the 20 miles (IF we had walked it would have been a long and demanding day….we typically walk at 2 or 2 1/2 miles per hour)
Photo - exterior of Bar Elvis, covered in graffiti - we are told this is the “happening” place around here
Photo - derelict house built in traditional materials, as are many of the homes on the Camino (I remember “Wattle and Daub” from history lessons at English primary school)
Photo - green door - there is a small window above with green shutters (I took this photo in the hottest part of the day about 86F) 💚
Looks like a quaint and relaxing place to convalesce. I’m considering building a hobbit house to store my wine. Which is really just an excuse to buy more wine!
