Outskirts of Leon

We made it to our hotel in Arcahueja 7 hours after leaving Reliegos.  It was only 10.5 miles.  I had to stop frequently and that meant we were walking in almost 90 degrees under a blazing sun - there was no shade.  LP adjusted to my slow pace today - and I thank her for sticking with me

Our hotel tonight is rather grand by Camino standards.  We made it to the hotel restaurant prior to the 3:30 order deadline.  Whew.  Restaurant closed at 4 and doesn’t reopen till 8.  Had a fabulous salad - maybe the best salad of this Camino.

Giant billboard mural on the outside of Reliegos.  Lady shepherd knitting surrounded by her dog and sheep with the meteor shooting across the sky behind her.  The stump she’s sitting on has a yellow Camino arrow.

Small church with a huge stork’s nest.    Church was not open.  So many churches are closed.

  1. Glad you made it! Sounds like a tough day in the heat and sun + not feeling 100%. Hopefully rest and hydration will help you feel better for tomorrow's journey. JK
