No Lie - 18 miles!

 Posted by VQT

We were up and walking by 6:45.  Stopped at mile 3 and had 1st breakfast.  Then at mile 8 stopped at a food truck and had 2nd breakfast.  It was a long walk on gravel.  Around 1 we arrived at Cadzadilla de la Crueza and found Ken & Lynda from California and Tina from Germany.  They were staying in that town but unfortunately we had another 4 to 5 miles to walk until we arrived at Ledigos (La Morena hotel - which we stayed at 3 years ago).

This bookstore owner was amazed that 2 pilgrims wanted to buy a school notepad with lines.  We are working on a chart showing our daily mileage in 2022 compared to this year’s mileage.  We’ll post the comparison in a few weeks as we near the end of our walk.

Our morning entertainment came from seeing a sheep herder and herding dogs with a huge flock of sheep.

It was a long day and we are very proud of ourselves for walking 18 miles in 7 hours (not including our breakfast and beer breaks).

  2. LPis looking remarkably fresh, and so are you based on recent photos. I'm interested in seeing the comparison too, from 2022. All the photos and tidbits seem completely new to me, so either you are having completely new experiences (doubtful?) or I just can't remember (more likely). I took a quick look back at 2022 but all I could find were storks. lol!!

  3. What I notice between this trip and 1st one is that LP and VQT aren't as worn out. Maybe they are hiding that from us, but I don't think so!!!
