It was a hot day in Spain

 Posted by VQT

We are meeting so many Camino people.  It takes a while to find your Camino family especially since most people started in St Jean and had already been walking 3 or 4 days before we joined in at Pamplona.

It was hot today and very sunny.  People are battling sunburn, blisters and aching bodies.  Most people arrive thinking they are in great shape but walking long distances in the heat carrying heavy backpacks day after day is not easy.  After 3 days we are doing ok - only a few aches and pains.

We are staying at another place we stayed 3 years ago.  There’s a free washer & dryer in the building.  At this moment all of our clothes are getting washed.  That’s exciting news on the Camino - a free washer & dryer!  Almost worth a photo of the appliances!

Josh from Sitka, Alaska gave us this Sitka coin today.

The path across the harvested wheat field.

The blue sky.

Swallow nests under building eave.

A model of a church we stopped at this morning. These models show just how massive these buildings are.

Another roadside entrepreneur with LP.  We bought juice boxes and hard boiled eggs.

The Fountain of Wine.  Pilgrims can fortify themselves for the journey ahead at the generosity of the Bodegas Please notice VQT is drinking her wine out of the cap of her water bottle.

VQT and LP at the Fuente del Vino.

A day with free wine is a good day.

  2. A bottle cap? Hilarious! Love the church model and Sitka button - reminds me of the movie "The Proposal" - Glad to bags aren't too heavy and so far feet are ok. Love the gorgeous sky and wheat field photo!
