Half way!

 Posted by LP

We have walked for 19 days and have another 19 days to walk (plus a couple of rest days) - we might have been slow today, but walk we did (VQT was determined, despite the coughing, etc)

Photo - VQT (in background) walking the trail today - in the foreground is a Camino marker noting 329.5 km to Santiago - at the bottom of the marker it says Leon
Photo - Camino arrow marker (I took this photo several days ago) - it says Castilla at the bottom of the marker - in fact they both originally said Castilla y Leon (the name of the region we are currently walking through), but there is such rivalry between Castilla (near Burgos) and where we are now in the Leon area, that people have taken the time to mark out the “other” name on most of  the markers we pass
Photo - Sam from Wigan, UK - he cycled up while we were taking a rest - he began by walking the Camino, but hurt his leg, then found the vintage (green) bike (in the rubbish/trash) and says he will bike until his leg feels better
Photo - LP, VQT and Sam - he has lots of great stories including cycling from Gibraltar to Ukraine last year
Photo - the Rio Porma (upstream)
Photo - the Rio Porma (downstream) - the trees etc, by the river crossing was the greenest landscape we saw all day
Photo - outline of chicken and seedling on the wall outside an animal feed shop/store - I believe I remember this from our walk in 2022 🐓🌱
Photo - a tatty green barn door
Photo - a different shade of green tatty barn door

I am happy to report that I have persuaded other Camino walkers to look out for green doors, they had been unaware of the beauty of tatty green doors until I enlightened them! 💚
