Feet and Food (dare we say?)
Posted by LP
Thank you for taking a look at our blog, we love knowing people are thinking about us - special thanks to those of you who post a comment 💚
We’ve been walking for 11 days and (dare we say it?) things are going well - for the most part, been able to find decent (vegetarian) food - our feet are holding up well (we take very good care of them) - our hotels have been a mixed bunch, some very quirky, some very austere - we are about a quarter of the way to our destination and have paced ourselves with a balance of long and short days - plus we’ve met some lovely people and generally had a good time :)
Hope you enjoy these few photos:
Photo - the restaurant had lots of charming decor items including with little frog with flowers
Photo - green barn doors with sheep painted in upstairs window - you might remember this from 2022? - it is just too good to not include again
Photo - colourful painted rocks outside our breakfast cafe this morning
Photo - I believe these tiny flowers are crocus, they are found at higher elevations….we had a taste of higher elevations with a steep up hill early this morning
Photo - VQT walking gravel path coming down from those higher elevations early this morning
Photo - (not green) barn doors to illustrate I am able to take photos of the many interesting and often dilapidated buildings that are not painted green
Photo - colourful display of flowering plants in one of the villages we walked through this morning
Photo - I took this photo in the cathedral because it had stone carved chickens by the feet of whoever this is
Photo - stained glass cathedral windows reflecting on the floor
Photo - VQT, LP and Tina enjoying company and red wine at an outdoor cafe opposite the cathedral
That window picture is beautiful. And that dude is the patron saint of chickens. All hail...

The dude is St. Dominic as in “Santo Domingo de la Calzada” who is the saint said to have saved the pilgrim and made the jailer’s chicken fly off his plate in your previous Chicken Story post. Even more interesting considering my husband and son are named Dominic.
ReplyDeleteMore green doors and the cathedral windows are beautiful. Ev.
ReplyDeleteYour adventure just gets better and better! love the cathedral stained glass reflection and of course the continuing chicken story. LP - you need to name one of your chickens after this patron saint!
