A Scheduled Day Off :)

 Posted by LP

We slept in, did our laundry, enjoyed our rest and relaxation and visited the highlights of Astorga

Because of the drop in temperature, I bought a couple of items of warmer clothing  (from the same shop we bought our “feet saving” hiking sandles 3 years ago)

Photo - mural of Gaudi - see VQT’s post for marvelous photos of the truly amazing Bishop’s Palace
Photo - long rows of socks for sale at the street market
Photo - washing machine with our clothes - this the 6th time we’ve done washing in our 4+ week trip - laundry is the cost of traveling light
Photo - beautiful blue tiles in the Hotel Gaudi (where we are staying)
Photo - chart of the benefits of chocolate - we went to the Museum of Chocolate - my Spanish is not up to much, but I can definitely understand (and appreciate) this illustration
Photo - beautiful design made with chocolate molds

Thanks to everyone for continuing to visit our blog - we continue to appreciate your interest and support - we have 2 more weeks of walking, we plan to arrive at Santiago on 7th October  💚

  1. I can see how socks would be a valuable commodity as well as clean clothes! Hope you both are feeling better and the coughing has diminished to a manageable level.

  2. Love the row of socks! I hope you purchased some chocolate for the rest of your trip. Can't believe only 2 weeks left! You have achieved a remarkable mission so far - even with the breaks you were forced to take you are still on schedule. Cheering you along daily!!! and living your Pilgrimage vicariously
