A Palace for a Bishop

 Posted by VQT

We were “blown away” by the Gaudi Palace.  Unbelievable!   Here are some photos.

In the garden were 3 large angels.  They were to be placed on the roof but for some reason they could not be.  Actually nice that they are in the garden where they can be seen better.

Architectural details inside the entryway.

Stained glass windows seemed to be in every wall.

15th Century Iron Cross.  We will walk by the current iron cross in the next few days and we’ll post about the significance of this site on the Camino.

All the bricks were made locally and hand painted.  The attention to detail was incredible.

  1. So glad you had the time to truly explore the palace. Gaudi’s works are so intricate and detailed. Waiting to hear about the chocolate and the mantecadas.
