A nice walk in not so nice weather.

 Posted by VQT

Forecast on weather app showed cloudy skies - no rain.  But it lied.  We walked most of the day in a misty, drizzly, light rain with gusty wind.  It was chilly at times.  But, if this is the worst weather we encounter in this walk I’ll be very happy.

View from our hotel room this morning.  This church was not open and had construction going on around the exterior.

LP taking a photo of the 1936 monument.  Lumber and lumber trucks in the background.  We walked through forest land almost all day.

From our hotel we went straight uphill for a long way.  What goes up must come down so a long steep down and then another long up.

Street with large Camino shells.

  1. That is a steep steep hill coming up in the distance- and a steep down Wearing boots?

  2. I’m glad to see the monument so everyone remembers what happened in 1936. 300 people shot to death fighting against the fascist regime. I didn’t realize that Spain became a refuge for Jews escaping Hitler but at same time Franco was supporting Germany and Hitler - they tried to be a Switzerland.

  4. Fed by the beautiful sunrise, L & V made their way steadfastly up a hill, then down another and then up again. Hopefully they will land in a beautiful kingdom of cathedrals and sunflowers. If that's their wish.
