A day on the Camino

 Posted by VQT

Some pilgrims spend all their energy getting through the day - one step after another.  Then there are some pilgrims who have too much energy or time and get creative.

A sunflower with a smiley face.

A sunflower with a scary face.

Another smiling sunflower.

And another smile.

Obviously people stopped and took the time to remove seeds to create these faces.  I only stopped to photograph and quickly moved on.

A beautiful arrangement of wheat in a small church we stopped at today.

A huge crane - this is how they stack those hay bales.

Hay bales in field.  Future hay bale stack material.

Today’s walk was almost all on gravel roads.  It was misty at times but not heavy enough for us to put on pack covers or raincoats.  Found a great restaurant and had a late lunch or early dinner.

  2. I think I need to read up on hay bale construction. And possibly on sunflower portrait art.

  3. Love the fall colors and the sunflower art. Have you seen many Goldfinches in the sunflower fields. Definitely looks like the are ahead of us in the fall season.
Keep these wonderful photos and stories coming.

  4. I wondered how they stacked the hay bales so high. Hope your feet are holding up on the gravel.
