3 miles per hour

 Posted by LP

We (slowly) walked 15 miles through pretty countryside, a few rolling hills, cool temperatures and sunshine, all very pleasant - aside from the coughing it would have been a top 10 day - I didn’t take many photos, here are a few:

Photo - my first photo of the day - a snail painted on a rock to advertise the upcoming cafe….we didn’t visit, we went to the first cafe we saw!
Photo - green door early in our morning walk - let’s get the green door issue addressed early in the day 💚
Photo - a very long bridge we crossed - such an elegant design, but the cobbles are hell on tired hiker’s feet
Photo - a (not green) door with a charming Camino sign above
Photo - a scruffy dog begging from pilgrims at the cafe
Photo - LP next to a figure of reused materials - this kind of art regularly crops up next to the trail
Photo - mural as we walked into Astorga….apparently they are wrapping shortbread (at least that is how I understand it with Google Translate) - I thought Astorga was known for chocolate, but I am willing to give the shortbread a try too
Photo - rebar art cats in window of unused building

  6. Is it me or do most of the doors look like dungeon entrances straight out of Monty Python films? Quite envious of your cooler temperatures! Still near 90°F here and DRY. We desperately need rain. Hoping there’s none in the forecast for you though!
