Sept 13th - Salas

 Posted by VQT

Sunflower.  And we saw more black tomatoes growing in this garden.  So tempting to knock on the door and ask to buy one or two.  Maybe we’ll see a gardener out working and ask about buying a tomato?

Old stone steps going nowhere.

Headed to Salas.  About 14 miles.   A large elevation gain in the morning then up and down all day.  60% paved surfaces which might be good after all the rain.  Yesterday some of the unpaved paths were very muddy and slippery and slowed us down.  Today’s forecast is cloudy - not showing any rain.

Yesterday we walked 17 miles bringing our total mileage to 156 miles.  Clarification - yesterday’s soup was not vegetarian - they flavored the soup with a bone and bits of ham were in the soup - so no soup for us.

Last nights hotel was a 9 on our Camino scale - nice room and fabulous breakfast.

  2. I hope you were able to find real vegetarian food and a good night's rest in your 9 rated hotel. Also clearing skies with that awesome breakfast.
