Logistically Challenged

 Posted by VQT

We had a short day today.  Weather was so-so.  We didn’t put on pack covers or rain gear - we just got damp. We thought we had a reservation in a small town with no restaurants so planned to go to the SuperMercado in the town prior so we could get some food.  Alas, stores were closed so we sat down on bar stools under a canopy to regroup.

We sat on these black stools in the drizzle.  We thought we had another mile or so to our accommodations.   See the terra cotta building?

Luna del Valle.  Yep.  That’s our hotel for the night.  Steps away from our bar stools where we sat like stray alley cats.

GPS locator just in case you needed more proof that we were daft.

Luna del Valle doesn’t look great on the outside but our room is funky and very nice.  On a Camino scale it’s an 8 out of 10.

And the best.   Tomorrow there is festival here.  We watched a rehearsal of young women dancing and playing castanets.  Then had a great time at a local restaurant where we were the only non locals.

Dancers practicing.

Another bottle of wine with dinner.  Yes, this time we drank the whole bottle.

Restaurant was filled with these huge cider barrels.

Tomorrow the adventure continues.
