I can’t remember the last time I was this tired

 Posted by VQT

We climbed up and up and up.  According to our phones we climbed 111 floors today (that’s more floors than the Empire State Building).

Horses and cows are free to wander anywhere.

Cows on Camino trail.  Not only do we have to watch our step for rocks the cows leave a lot of cow patties in the trail.

Horses at the very top.

Above the morning mist.  Photos do not do the beauty justice.  It was worth the effort to see this.

LP heading up and up.

Sunrise this morning.

Another sunrise photo.

At the top wind was gusting - almost blew us off the trail.   And sun.  Too much sun.  Lots of red faces and arms.

Going down was even more challenging in places - the trail was very steep and consisted of loose stones and pebbles.

What a great experience to climb up and see the views.  Very few people will ever be here - the local horse & cow owners and the few Camino Primitivo people who come this way (there’s an option to take a lower trail so not every Camino person comes this way).

We are staying tonight at a 2 bedroom suite that looks very new.  And our laundry is being done for us!

  1. Enjoy a hardy repast and clean clothes in the knowledge you did something today that few people have or will do. Beautiful vistas and a beautiful friendship.

  2. 111 floors!!! Of course you two would not take the lower trail! Amazing views and amazing Prilgrams. I can only imagine you've been this tired on previous Camino Pilgrimages, but how soon we forget.

  4. I see others think like me! Yes, hard work, grand reward, laundry done! But how was today's dinner?
