Easy day - my ass.

Metal sculpture of a pilgrim.

34,901 steps.  12.9 miles.   Incredible uphill climbs.  We have to remind ourselves that the guidebooks are not written for our demographic.  Today we passed 2 couples from Australia in our same demographic group - they passed us, we passed them etc throughout the day.  Other demographics passed us and the Australians like we were standing still and disappeared over the hills never to be seen by any of us again.

Tomorrow is one of the hardest days - distance and elevation gains - we will have on this trip.  We are looking into options - transport of our bags or even better transport of us and our backpacks.

Right now we are at Villa Viciosa (translates to Hen House) drinking a beer.

  4. Outburst of laughter at the today's title!!! I knew exactly who had posted AND, I know the sting of having hikers rush by when I was struggling with steep elevation gain. Pilgrams, you got this!! I pray your feet, knees, and spirts are fairing well. Buen camino (maybe not today or tomorrow)! Sending love!!
