Day 9. Oh my!

 Posted by VQT

Headed to Pola de Siero   27.6 km away (17 miles)

Sunday’s elevation chart.  Sunday’s walk was very hard.

Today’s elevation chart that scared us so bad we considered catching a bus to Leon and walking part of the French way again or staying on Norte and not turning onto Primitivo.   And considered having items transported.

But, we left our hotel at 8:00 headed for Primitivo.  No cafes were open.  We stopped about 8:30 and ate some cheese & crackers we had in our packs because according to GA (Linda’s husband) it’s better to eat it than carry it.   At 11:30 we stopped and ate our last Oreos.   Finally at 12:30 after walking 9 miles we found a cafe.  Hot tea, canned Nestea, beer and sunflower seeds have never tasted so good.

And yes we are carrying our packs.   Transport company never replied to my emails (I did send on Saturday but had hoped for an early Monday response).

Scenic view.

We climbed uphill for hours.

Scenic view.

Zinnia - Barbie pink.

Pink and yellow - dahlia?

Cafe.  Most beautiful sight.

Eight miles to go.
