Day 8. Last day on Norte

 Posted by VQT

Hand painted directions to a bar.  Beautiful sight for these 2 weary people.

Beware of the dog ceramic tile.  We see so many unique beautiful tiles on garden and house walls.

In the past 7 days we have walked 94 miles.

Today we head to Villaviciosa.  Per the guidebook it will be a peaceful, inland and easy walking day - we hope this proves to be true.  We will pass one of the oldest churches on the Norte route.

Today is also our last day on Norte.  At Villaviciosa we make the turn onto Primitivo.  We will be on the Primitivo for 300 km (180 miles).  After that the Primitivo joins the French way for the final 50km (30 miles) into Santiago de Compostela.

  2. Good luck! Hopefully Primitivo will be more of a normal Camino experience.

  3. LOVE the tile! The graphic is quiet expressive. You each need one for those tiles for your large, vicious (teasing) puppers. 94 miles is a lot steps!! Congrats! Buen Camino!

  4. Bar!! This way. How welcoming on your off-,the-beaten Camino path.
