Where sea meets land

 Posted by LP

The Atlantic is the world’s second largest ocean (we had to goggle that to be sure!) and where it meets the land in Portugal it creates a powerfully beautiful and dramatic coastline:

Surfing sculpture at our destination, backed by wide sandy beach and the sea
VQT with M and D (with shoes off) from Canada at the seashore (M had very sore feet, D had one very tiny blister…..life is not fair!)
VQT resting her feet at our first stop of the day (we had a picnic breakfast of oranges, cheese and nuts) - the sea is some distance in the background
The view (of dunes, seashore and blue sky) from our cafe (at 2pm the first one open since we began walking at 8am)
VQT walking along path parallel with the sea - the sky seemed wide open there - ground is flat and relatively easy walking at this point, we also experienced much more uncomfortable surfaces like cobbles (and our feet are very sore)
Large red square sculpture framing the dunes, rocks and sea
Our path took as away from the sea from time to time (deliberately and accidentally!) - here are colorful nasturtiums against farming fields
Fantastic sandy beach at dusk at our destination of Vila Praia de Ancora
VQT taking photos at dusk - the views are beautiful and the beaches uncrowded
