Is it a pilgrimage if you don’t suffer

What a day!!!! We thought we were scheduling accommodations at a reasonable distance. But like last years Camino - the book, the signage (scant if any) and GPS differ greatly.
Todays steps and mileage.
We walked in full sun all day. Our hotel is known as Vintage - no s*** - there’s a rotary dial telephone in our room. Hotel is in the middle of a forest and does not have a bar or restaurant. The one restaurant in walking distance is closed today. We have crashed the bar in another hotel after wading through multiple tour buses of tourists. This hotel only offers a buffet at 20 euros which is way too pricy for 2 vegetarians. Our baggage transport who delivered our bag to the Vintage hotel informed us they don’t pick up from this hotel that we need to contact another company (really?).
We did meet several people today. I’ll post again after I finish my beer and regain my sense of humor.
Cheers
Oh my! I hope you found something you could eat!!
ReplyDeleteGeesh. I would be in tears pounding my fists on the floor. I hope you got enough to eat to go with your beer.
ReplyDeleteOmg- 45k steps in full sun, on sand, with complications at end of day- definitely suffering in my book!
