Coastal Camino
Posted by VT
The Coastal Camino is different from the French Camino. The Coastal route is intermeshed with a thriving tourism community. We are seeing more Camino pilgrims but tourists and locals out number Camino pilgrims 50 or more to 1. We are hopeful that as we get closer to Santiago de Compostela we will encounter more Camino people.
The Coastal Camino consists of many miles of boardwalks that protect the seaside dunes. These boardwalks are also used by locals and tourists. No idea who is responsible for maintaining these boardwalks and many are in bad condition.
Damaged boardwalk.
Weather has been sunny and warm. So far we have avoided sunburn and blisters.
Coast is gorgeous. Glad your feet are happy! JK
ReplyDeleteLove the sand - those boardwalk 🤨
ReplyDeleteLove the coastal views. I imagine it’s strange to be surrounded by tourists while walking the Camino.
