A beautiful and mercifully short day
Posted by LP
Here are a few photos from today - above is LP at the ticket booth for the water taxi from Portugal to Spain (5 minutes and 6 Euros each)
VQT walking the path (early before the sky cleared) - thankfully the path is not cobble stonesA goat by the side of the path - we met a whole herd
We’ve seen these trees everywhere - don’t they look like a bad fake Christmas tree?
A Camino sign (as we headed out of last night’s accommodation) next to rocks and the ocean - it had rained early morning (we found a cafe for breakfast until it stopped around 8am) but the sky is still overcast here
Public benches in a park square (in A Guarda, Spain) decorated with crochet squares - we found trees and benches decorated all around the town) - this is our first stop in Spain on this trip
Painted trees (white lines in interesting shapes) in a wooded area as we arrived in Spain
LP walking through wooded area at the end of our stretch in Portugal - we much prefer walking on soft surfaces like this woodland, kinder for sore feet
From the beach at the north of Portugal, looking out across the sea to a large fort (lots of old fortifications along this part of the coast)
A sparsely wooded area with sunshine and blue skies peeking through the trees - photo was taken late morning today
A stone cross at the side of the path - the sea and beautifully blue sky beyond
VQT holding onto her hat (and wearing a life jacket) as we cross the river boarder between Portugal and Spain in a fast moving water taxi
I’m glad you made it safely to Spain. The trees kind of look like those cell towers made to look like trees.
ReplyDeleteHurray for a short day! And more great photos!
ReplyDeleteInteresting tree shape. Looked it up and it could be some kind of Araucaria species. Cheers to short days!! JK
ReplyDeleteDefinitely look like fake Christmas trees 😂Amazing photos hope the feet are improving 🙏💚
