We’ve become Camino Elitists
Posted by LP - we have become the Camino Elitists we said we would not be, but this is outrageous provocation - the photo is the activity list of a tour group staying in this same hotel in Leon, it is taped up in the lift/elevator - of course, everyone is entitled to walk the Camino in their own way……but the element that really stabs us in the heart is (1) “El Camino walk (about 2 miles)” and (2) “Bring your Pilgrim’s Passport” - you might remember from earlier blog posts that the stamped passport shows that we have visited all these places and consequently have earned our certificate once we arrive in Santiago de Compostela, so to have a stamped passport after “about 2 miles” hurts us, even more than our feet hurt us!
To be fair, to obtain a “Compostela” and the “indulgences” is confers, pilgrims have to prove they walked at least 100 miles to Santiago
They are clearly “lightweights” compared to you.

Who knew - a signed passport after two miles. Sign me up. My kind of walking. PN
ReplyDeleteWannabes!
ReplyDeleteObvious tourism bait. 2 miles indeed! Is a bit of a slap, but you can always enjoy the point at which they eat your dust! Perhaps it's for people in wheelchairs?
ReplyDeleteThat is so lame!!! I would be embarrassed to do that on a tour!! Pamela
