In 2019 almost 350,000 people arrived in Santiago. There are many routes to Santiago and we are walking the most popular route called The Way of Saint James or the French Way. In 2020 only 54,000 and in 2021 there were 179,000 who arrived in Santiago. 2022 might be a larger number arriving than in 2019.
From our Guidebook: “The great joy of the Camino is in the people you meet along the way…come prepared to journey with a motley crew of pilgrims from many walks of life.”
Everyone looks motley, even the ones in their 30s, that is something we all share regardless of our age
Another statistic is the normal suggested time it takes to complete the Camino is 37 days - LP and VQT will complete it in 38 days. Not too bad for 2 women of a certain age.
I’m looking forward to seeing the 2022 numbers.
Buen Camino.
Much respect for two lovely ladies of a certain age :-). TW
ReplyDeleteI'm sure walking the Camino at any age is a life changing process, but to do it at this stage in your lives is remarkable. Kudos and respect!
ReplyDelete38 days is amazing! You are worthy of respect and awe!
ReplyDeleteIn awe and jealous
ReplyDeleteSo impressed, and now motivated to try something similar 😊 DC
