Judge not

There’s a hierarchy among Camino walkers. At the top of the hierarchy are the people that start in St Jean Pied de Port carrying their own backpacks. Under that esteemed level are people that have their bags transported or start the Camino at another location.
LP and VQT weighed their backpacks at the pilgrim office in St Jean Pied de Port - 23 pounds! We trudged over some of the hardest sections of the Camino carrying those bags for 12 days. Finally we realized we had to make a change in order to reach Santiago in our allotted time frame. We must walk more miles per day with less wear and tear on our bodies.
So, meet our new best Camino friend - the blue duffle bag.
Yesterday we had our gear transported for the first time. What a Camino miracle! So judge not - walk your own Camino based on your ability and time constraints.
I am certainly not judging as I sit on the couch reading about walking. PN
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea! No judging here.
ReplyDeletewhat a novel idea!
ReplyDeleteWow. That’s awesome. I’m glad you both found out and are able to use that option. The walking alone is challenging enough!

Great idea - wonderful plan. TW
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Do they have bellhops to deliver them from your hotel to the drop off points? That would be good also! Pamela
