Astorga - a beautiful city

 Posted by VQT

Until walking the Camino I had never heard of most of the town & cities we have walked through.  If I am fortunate enough to return to Spain in the future Astorga would be on my list to visit.  We arrived so late in the day (had to shop for Tevas and find our hotel) there was no time for sightseeing.

Palacio de Gaudi.  Now a museum housing Camino religious art
Sign for Palacio de Gaudi.

Flower shop we walked by.
Astorga cathedral. 15th century.
Another flower shop.  LP about to peek into the window.
Another photo of cathedral.

Guidebook also mentions there’s a Museo del Chocolate with a tasting session.  Tragic that we missed that as I love chocolate.

  1. A museum of chocolate? I'm really losing it here. Putting it on my bucket list under petting a giraffe.
    Thanks for the great travelogue.

    1. Wow, no wonder that church is so interesting… it was designed by Antoni Gaudi who has amazing buildings In Barcelona as well. I would LOVE to visit this city one day! Gorgeous Pamela
