A damp day on the Camino
Posted by LP - photos by VQT - for most of the 12 or so miles today we had to wear all our rain gear - some of the time it was head down, keep walking (I sang to myself, mostly Gilbert and Sullivan operettas), though there were some moments of delight too - the only photo I took was of the vegetarian menu at the place we stopped for lunch…..a reflection of my narrow focus:
A misty view of the many green fields and cow pastures (we have definitely had a close up view of North West Spain’s small farmer cow business)That tiny speck is LP walking down a country lane (during a small break in the rainy weather)
Statue of a pilgrim (being blown by the harsh weather) at the highest point today (no view due to low clouds)
The fire place at the cafe/bar/restaurant we stopped for lunch……everyone steamed as they came in from the wet weather and dried in the heat of the fire
As luck would have it, the place we stopped to rest served vegetarian food - it was delicious, we had lentil soup and a big salad (a real salad, with fruit and nuts, etc!)
LP at the entrance of (another) small church we passed this afternoon
So sorry for the unpleasant weather… congrats! The weather did not stop you all! I’m glad you were able to enjoy a vegetarian meal.๐๐๐ Best, ROBBIE
