Random thoughts and photos

Posted by LP - photos by VQT - photos = (1) door knocker (in shape of hand) in Pamplona - (2) painted sign on house, “Buen Camino,” the greeting for Pilgrims - (3) LP filling water bottle from taps found in every town - (4) photo of Michelle and Michael from Australia (among the many lovely people have met) - (5) huge vista of green fields (our view for much of today)

Other thoughts:

We have been away from home for a week, not sure we are fully in the Camino “groove” people talk about, but we are working on it

There has not been one place we have stayed where we haven’t intentionally left several items no longer needed so we can lighten our load

It is impossible to walk El Camino without thinking about the millions of pilgrims who have preceded us….many of them without the lightweight hiking gear we are fortunate to have

While walking, my mind wonders to all kinds of poems, prose and music……I never seem to recall all the words, but today I hummed some Flanders and Swan, maybe it was all the mud (English readers of a certain age will understand this reference)

Even though my feet hurt and things are challenging, I am very grateful to have this opportunity, so many thanks to all who have supported me, especially GJA who is handling all my responsibilities so I can pursue this dream

  2. Your photos are extraordinary. I was thinking how much I loved the 'architectural' shots, but the landscape photo takes the prize! Keep on trekkin'!
