Travel to Biaritz
Photos: Rapeseed field. Saw fields and fields of rapeseed from TGV train.
Trees that are all over Biarritz (maybe the first of many tree photos)
Getting to a destination is an ordeal. Delta decided to change plane types so even though Linda & I had bought seats next to each other and linked our tickets Delta assigned us new seats in different rows. Oh well we’ll have plenty of togetherness time.
The next part of our travels required getting on a RER train at Charles de Gaulle airport, changing to a metro train in Paris central hub (during morning rush hour commute) to get to TGV high speed train station. We had bought tickets in advance for the noon TGV train allowing ourselves plenty of time in case of flight delays. Well, we got to TGV station 4 hours early but we were very feeling very proud of ourselves for successfully following our friend Pamela’s train instructions (note: she strongly suggested we get a taxi at Charles de Gaulle instead of fumbling our way through train stations. But, intrepid travelers never shy away from experiencing any job of traveling.)
Arrived Biarritz and took a cab to our hotel around 6 pm. Immediately went looking for food. But we were quickly reminded that dinner hour starts at 7. Not deterred we found a sports bar ordered 1/2 pints of a local IPA and veggie burgers which were falafel based. Both beer and veggie burgers were delicious.
Too tired to post last night. Sun is shining. Pastries await us.
Falafel burgers sound like a great find. Good to hear you successfully navigated the transportation!
